Transportation resumes along Beni-Jomsom road

BABIYACHAUR (Myagdi), July 4: Transportation along the Beni-Jomsom road connecting the trans-Himalayan district of Mustang to the national highway resumed this morning.

The vehicular movement had stalled since July 1 following landslides at Titar area and Ghopte Bhir as well as flooding at Ghansa Kholsa of Mustang.

The Road Division Office, transport entrepreneurs, police and locals helped to clear the landslide debris along the 76 km Beni-Jomsom road, police said.

Two dozers were used to clear the road after which stranded vehicles and passengers moved on to their destination, Dana Hotel's Indra Singh Sherchan said.

The landslide and flooding triggered by torrential rain had created difficulties for travellers including tourists and Hindu devotees heading to and from the famed Muktinath temple. RSS
