District Police Range, Bhaktapur, reported that a 65-year-old man, Asnara Koju, from Liwali, Bhaktapur Municipality-8, died after the tipper struck him at Chokhamru Chowk, Bhaktapur Municipality-9, on Friday at 1:15 PM.
The tipper (Ba Pra 4 Kha 4931), traveling towards Bhane Chowk from Kharipati, struck Koju.
Severely injured, Koju was rushed to Khwopa Hospital in Chyamasingh, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
A police team led by an investigation officer from Jagati Bhaktapur arrived at the scene and began an investigation.
The police have taken both the tipper and its driver, 33-year-old Amir Tamanglai, into custody. Tamang, originally from Melamchi Municipality- 9 in Sindhupalchok, currently resides in Bhane Chowk, Bhaktapur.
