TIA to be closed for 10 hours daily starting November 8
KATHMANDU, June 24: The Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) will be closed for 10 hours daily from November 8.
The TIA office has said that the airport has to be closed as there is work to be done to extend the runway, taxi way, parking bay etc.
According to the airport office, the TIA will be closed from November 8 from 10 PM to 8 AM. It will last for five months.
It is mentioned in the notice of the office that from November 8 to March 31, the airport will be operating only 14 hours a day. Currently TIA opens at 6 AM. The airport has been operating till 2 AM.
As the Kathmandu airport closes at night, airlines have to revise their scheduled flight hours.
