Three children of same family die of food poisoning in Bara

KATHMANDU, Aug 13: Three children of the same family have died of food poisoning in Simraungadh, Bara.

According to the District Police Office, Bara, three children of Naresh Ram, a resident of Simraungadh Municipality-7 died due to food poisoning on Monday.

Prakash Sapkota, spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)  of the District Police Office, Bara, said the deceased have been identified as Lalima, 9, Pushpa,7, and Krishna Nandan Ram, 5.

According to Sapkota, all the family slept after eating fish with rice which was  brought from a pond near their house on Sunday. However, the children became sick which led  to stomach ache, vomiting and diarrhea during the night.

Following that they were admitted to the Simraungadh Health Clinic for treatment and were transferred to the Kalaiya Provincial Hospital. DSP sapkota said that Lalima died on the way while Pushpa and Krishnananda died during treatment at Kalaiya Hospital.

According to police, the bodies of the three deceased have been handed over to their family after postmortem at the Kalaiya Hospital on Monday.

Furthermore, police suspect that fish poisoning may have caused illness. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
