The British College: The Colt Foundation Nominee

The Colt Foundation, established on 28th August 1978 by the O'Hea family, awards fellowships each year to qualified students enrolled at UK-based universities. The Foundation mainly offers grants to students pursuing higher degrees in subjects related to occupational and environmental health. Occasionally they award students studying courses other than the ones mentioned above. To this day, the Foundation has awarded more than £16.5 million in grants.

As part of the Colt Foundation Scholarship, The British College (TBC), Kathmandu, invited applications from underprivileged Nepali students across the country. This scholarship was open for the undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Science (Hons) Computing for the academic year commencing in 2018.

Among many deserving candidates, Futi Sherpa from the mountain districts of eastern Nepal, Fungling, Taplejung, has been awarded this scholarship to study four years BBA program at the British College. The scholarship is inclusive of the tuition fees, exam fees, accommodation, personal maintenance allowance, travel costs and other program-related costs for four years.  CEO of TBC, Rajen Kandel said, “A small push can be a giant leap. We hope this scholarship will act as a stepping stone in achieving Ms. Sherpa’s goals and dreams. TBC hopes to offer such positive reinforcements to upcoming students through grants offered by the Colt Foundation.”
