Teachers donate salary to Pun's cause

MYAGDI, Nov 25: Impressed by social activist Mahabir Pun's efforts to establish National Innovation Center, teachers of Aadarsha Higher Secondary school, Myagdi, have donated their five-day salary to the Center.

School principal Kumar Garbuja said the donation was made as a part of helping Pun's noble move. "Like us many schools are collecting funds to support the innovation center. We also plan to continue this drive in the days ahead too," he said.

An 11-member committee has been formed under the leadership of School Resource Person, Bharat Kumar Pun, to raise funds for the innovation center.

"We have asked teachers and locals to support the campaign voluntarily," said Pun. He oversees 10 high schools in the districts where 92 teachers work.

The Roman Magsaysay Award winner, Mahabir Pun, is well known across the country for promoting telemedicine, agriculture and tourism by developing wireless service in remote parts of the country.

Through the innovation center, he aims to tap talent, creative, and innovative people and scientists in the country.
