Special function organised to mark first Constitution Day (Photo feature)

KATHMANDU, Sept 19: A special ceremony has been organised to mark the first anniversary of the promulgation of Constitution of Nepal today.

The government had already declared to mark Asoj 3 (September 19) as the national day on the historical occasion of the promulgation of the Nepal Constitution through Constituent Assembly. 

The ceremony was organized at Nepal Army Pavilion, Tundikhel in the capital. President Bidya Devi Bhandari attended the programme. 
Similarly, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Chief Justice Sushila Karki, Deputy Prime Minister duo Bhimalendra Nidhi and Krishna Bahadur Mahara including Ministers, lawmakers and senior leaders of the political parties and other high level officials participated the ceremony. 

On the occasion, a contingent of the Nepal Army presented a guard of honour in respect of the President Bhandari. President Bhandari was welcomed by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal who is also the chairman at the Constitution Day Main Celebration Committee. 
On the occasion, symbol of peace-pairs of pigeons were flown by the President Bhandari, PM Dahal, and CJ Karki. 

A minute’s silence was observed in memory of martyrs who lost their life in the struggle for democracy and republicanism. 

Similarly, Nepal Army displayed banners reading Constitution Day 2073 BS and showered flower petals. On the occasion, Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police, district development committees and Municipalities of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur displayed various skills and cultural programmes. 

Similarly, three security bodies had presented patriotic dances and singings as well. 
The government has announced the public holiday today. Nepali in and across the country are marking the constitution day organising various functions today. RSS
