The accident took place when a motorcycle (Lu 19 Pa 8875) and a scooter (Lu 85 pa 3133) collided with each other at Belbas, Butwal.
According to the Area Police Office Butwal, Ankrit Pathak, 23, of Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-13, died in the accident. Pathak, who sustained serious injuries in the accident died during treatment at Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Butwal.
The mother of the deceased, Gaumukhi Pathak, 43, and the motorcycle rider Sagar Tharu, 18, of Banganga, Kapilvastu, were injured in the accident. Both of the injured are receiving treatment and the condition of Pathak is critical.
Furthermore, local residents said that the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction hit the scooter while Ankrit and his mother were heading to Bolbam temple on Monday morning.
