Shree Airlines adds 80-seater to its fleet

KATHMANDU, June 22: Shree Airlines has added a new 80-seater aircraft to its fleet, assigning it the call sign 9N AOM. The aircraft, a De Havilland Canada Q400 Dash 8, was previously operated by Horizon Air and Alaska Air in the United States.

The De Havilland Canada Q400 Dash 8 is known for its reliability, soundproofing, and high comfort, according to Shree Airlines. The aircraft is equipped with a powerful 5400-shaft-horsepower PW150A engine from Pratt & Whitney Canada.

A Shree Airlines pilot skillfully navigated this aircraft on a multi-stop international delivery flight, arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport at 1:00 AM today. The journey began in Portland, Oregon, and included stops in Duluth, Minnesota; Goose Bay, Canada; Keflavík, Iceland; Prague, Czech Republic; Cairo, Egypt; and Muscat, Oman. The entire journey from Portland to Kathmandu took 33 hours.

Shree Airlines currently operates a fleet of 10 aircraft, including CRJ 200/700 and Q400 Dash 8 models. These aircraft provide flight services from Kathmandu to various destinations, including Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, Pokhara, and Surkhet.
