Schools in upper Dolpa closed for six months

DOLPA, Nov 9: All the schools in the higher reaches of Dolpa district are closed for six months as the temperature is increasingly going down following the rain and snowfall beginning with mid-October, according to the District Education Office, Dolpa.

School Inspector Bir Bahadur Dhami shared that the schools, closed informally with the drop in temperature, will open in April next year.

Dhami reasoned the closure of the schools due to the chill as he added that the students would not attend classes during winter.

Locals of six VDCs in upper Dolpa as Saldang, Tinje, Mukot, Charka, Dho, Vijer have started migrating towards lowland due to increasing cold. RSS
