I have been suspended from Rabi’s club, RSP’s bell will keep ringing: Dhakal

KATHMANDU, July 9: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has removed Dr Mukul Dhakal from his position as General Secretary and Spokesperson.

A central committee meeting held on Tuesday morning decided to relieve Dhakal of his duties as General Secretary and Spokesperson. The party had earlier suspended him on disciplinary ground.

Despite recommendations from the party’s disciplinary committee, the Central Committee opted to retain his general membership.

According to party sources, Dhakal has been given 35 days to appeal the decision.

Dhakal was suspended for seven days due to activities against party discipline and contrary to party interests.

Dhakal has publicly criticized party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane, alleging that Lamichhane has unfairly targeted him while avoiding accountability for various party issues, including the cooperative fraud case.

Following the suspension, Dhakal took to his social media and wrote, “I have just been suspended from Rabi Lamichhane’s club. The determination to make the country prosperous won’t stop in Rabi’s party, the bell will keep ringing in the party.  I will speak the rest tomorrow.”
