KATHMANDU, July 1:A squad of Nepal Police on Wednesday arrested two fraudsters allegedly involved in defrauding two aspirants seeking jobs abroad by promising them lucrative jobs in Portugal.

The two arrested have been identified as Mohammad Imram Miya, 33, of Pokhara Sub Metropolitan City and Bisram Sharma, 28, of Pragati VDC of Nawalparasi.

According to Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Teku, the two victims are Amrit Tamang, 34, and Suresh Tamang, 28, of Pokhara, Kaski district. The two fraudsters were found to have received Rs 3.6 million from the victims in several installments.

The victims realized that they had been duped after they got stranded in Georgia en route to Portugal. They then filed complaints at the police office upon their return. The two were arrested in Kathmandu and have been sent to the Metropolitan Police Range Office, Kathmandu for further interrogation.
