Know MoreTAPLEJUNG, Aug 20: Taplejung police have arrested a fugitive in a document-related case after 29 years. The arrestee has been identified as Devi Prasad Sembu Limbu, a permanent resident of Pathibhara Yangwarak Rural Municipality-3 and currently residing in Phungling Municipality-10.
The police arrested him while he was hiding in his own home. Inspector Kamal Kumar Lungeli, the spokesperson for the District Police Office, Taplejung, informed that the District Court Taplejung has extended his detention by five days as per Section 14(3) of the National Criminal Procedure Code, 2017.
The District Administration Office, Taplejung had recommended action against Limbu on May 9, 1995 in a case related to document forgery. He had been absconding ever since he was charged by the government almost three decades ago.
