Parliament to decide on no-confidence motion today

KATHMANDU, July 24: The second meeting of the Legislature-Parliament is to decide on the no-confidence proposal against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Sunday.

The proposal will be put for decision in the second meeting of the Parliament after Prime Minister responds to the questions that come up in course of the discussions following conclusion of the discussions on it in the first meeting.

The sponsors of the no-confidence proposal would be given time to withdraw the proposal before putting it for a decision.

"The Speaker will put the proposal for a decision of the Parliament if the sides supporting the no-confidence motion refuse to withdraw it," Assistant spokesman of the Parliament Secretariat, Sudarshan Kuinkel, said.

Discussions on the no-confidence proposal started in the Parliament from Friday.
The CPN (Maoist Center), along with other parties including the Nepali Congress, had registered the no-confidence proposal against Prime Minister Oli in the parliament on July 13. The proposal contained the signatures of 281 lawmakers. RSS
