Know MoreBAGLUNG, Sept 14: One person has died while 11 others have been injured after a house undergoing demolition suddenly collapsed in Baglung on Saturday afternoon.
According to officials from the District Police Office (DPO), Baglung, Beg Bahadur BK, 55, died while demolishing a house in Burtibang Bazar in Dhorpatan Municipality-1 of the district.
According to spokesperson of the DPO, Inspector Pratap Paudel, the house was being dismantled when it collapsed unexpectedly at around 2:30 pm, injuring 12 individuals initially. The injured included the owner of the house BK and 11 other workers. Inspector Paudel informed that BK died at around 4 pm while undergoing treatment at Burtibang Primary Health Center.
According to Paudel, the injured have been identified as Shankar Panthi, 26, of Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-9; Sugant Paudel, 24, of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-10; Khadak Prasad BK, Indra Rasaili, 20, Kopila Chhantyal, 40, and Shubh Budhamgar, 50, of Dhorpatan Municipality-4; Devisara BK, 40, and Thamkumari BK, 30, of Dhorpatan Municipality-1; Kham Maya Gharti, 38, Tek Bahadur BK, 35, and Tekmaya Rasaili, 51, of Tamankhola Rural Municipality-1.
Inspector Paudel informed that everyone who was buried in the house was rescued and taken to the health center and the 11 injured workers have been pronounced safe as of 8 pm.
