NEPSE loses 11.60 points; daily turnover falls to Rs 4.05 billion

KATHMANDU, June 26: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday decreased by 11.60 points to close at 2,060.16 points.

The market opened at 2,071.77 points and escalated to 2,077.12 points in the first 11 minutes of trading. However, the index went into a straight fall and hit the day’s high at 2,055.82 points before the last one minute of trading time. The market recovered around five points before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies declined by 2.27 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 4.05 billion from Rs 4.18 billion on Tuesday.

Three of the 13 groups were the gainers, while finance added the highest of 11.33 points to its index. Of the 10 losers, life insurance shed the largest of 61.53 points.

Among individual companies, 57 were recorded as gainers whereas 186 were the losers.

Nepal Finance Ltd had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 164.61 million. The company gained the largest of 9.87 percent of its market value. Sadhana Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited with a decline of 6.38 percent was recorded as the biggest loser.
