My India visit will focus on bolstering bilateral ties: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU, Sept 14: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that his four-day India visit will focus on bolstering ties between the two countries.

Briefing the Parliament on Wednesday, PM Dahal said his India visit will "focus on improving ties between the two countries rather than signing any new agreements.”

He vowed that he will not sign any new agreements against the interest of Nepal and Nepali people.

He further said that he will hold talks with his Indian counterpart on expediting the past agreements including the construction of the first phase of postal highway and additional assistance for the second phase of the construction during his visit.

Dahal said he will also hold discussion on Detailed Project Report (DPR) of Pancheshwar and Power Trade Agreement (PTA) and assistance for post-quake reconstruction.

He will also raise issues including integrated checkpoint, India’s subsidized loan and cross-border inundation, among others during his India visit.
