KATHMANDU, Sept 17: Minister for Supplies, Dipak Bohara, has said the government won't let the chance that the traders sell the contaminated, date expired and stale goods. 

Inaugurating the fair price shops the government begun on the occasion of the big festivals today, Minister Bohara said the shopkeepers fixing prices randomly would get stringent punishment. "Considering the festival time and need of additional daily goods, government is arranging the fair price shops in many places. Even the private shops and department stores should provide goods on discount," he added. 

According to him, the traders taking exorbitant prices could be taken action immediately once the information to this was given on time. 

Secretary at the Ministry of Supplies, Prem Kumar Rai, said the fair price shops would benefit poor and general public. 

There are 14 sales stalls at the building of National Trading while 24 other places in the capital city have the fair price shops. Even the mobile service is arranged to this regard. 

The fair price shops would continue till November 6. RSS
