Know MoreSUDURPASCHIM, May 4: The scheduled Provincial Assembly meeting called by Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Dirgha Bahadur Sodari today to take a vote of confidence has been postponed.
His aide Yubraj Jaishi announced that the meeting slated for 5:30 PM today has been postponed until further notice.
Previously, the provincial assembly session set for 5 PM on Friday was also postponed. Chief Minister Sodari had listed a vote of confidence on the agenda for the provincial assembly gathering.
The outcome of Chief Minister Sodari's confidence vote remains uncertain, especially as the ruling party CPN-UML has expressed concerns about the adequacy of preparations and called for further deliberations.
While the Provincial Assembly Secretariat had notified all members about today's session, reports indicate that CPN-UML parliamentary party leader Rajendra Singh Rawal has traveled to Kathmandu. Friday's meeting was adjourned due to Rawal's absence.
