Know MoreKATHMANDU, July 31: A man died in a flood that occurred in Balkhukhola last night. Police said that the dead body of Ram Swarup Mahato, 45, was recovered from the river near Balkhu in the capital city.
The Spokesperson for Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Dinesh Raj Mainali, said that Mahato was living in the squatters’ settlement in the Balkhu area.
Likewise, the heavy rain that happened last night triggered flooding in the Bagmati River and all its tributaries including Hanumante, Manohara, Dhobikhola, Godawari, Bishnumati, Balkhu and others.
Mainali said that some of the settlements on the riverbanks in the Kathmandu Valley are also inundated.
