Home ministry instructs CDOs to collect National ID card details at ward level

KATHMANDU, June 24: The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed the chief district officers (CDOs) across the country to collect the details for the National Identity Card at the ward level in coordination with the local authorities.

In a statement issued by the ministry's spokesperson, Joint Secretary Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, CDOs have been instructed to collect National ID card details at the ward level.

The government has made the National Identity Card mandatory for receiving social security allowances in 28 districts from July 16 in the first phase. Following complaints about the increasing number of service users in these districts, the statement emphasized the need to collect identity card details directly from the ward level.
