KATHMANDU, Sept 1: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has announced a forecast of heavy rain across several parts of the country today.

According to the MFD, there is an influence of the monsoon air across the country and the monsoon low pressure line is located to the south of the average place.

The MFD reported that light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning is occurring at many places of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, some places of Gandaki Province and at a few places of the remaining province, stating that it is generally cloudy across the country.

According to the MFD, it will be generally cloudy in the country this afternoon. Light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning is likely at many places in Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at a few places in the remaining provinces.

The MFD said that there is a possibility of heavy rain at a few places of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces and one or two places in the remaining provinces and heavy rainfall at one or two places of Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces

Similarly, it will be partly to mostly cloudy across the country tonight.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning at some places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and at a few places in the remaining provinces.

According to the MFD, there is a possibility of heavy rain at a few places of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and one or two places in the remaining provinces and heavy rain at one or two places of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Afternoon: The country will experience partly to mostly cloudy weather.  Light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning is expected at some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and a few places in the remaining provinces. There is also a possibility of heavy rain at a few places in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and one or two places in the remaining provinces.

Night: The country will experience partly to mostly cloudy weather. A possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning at some places in Koshi, Bagmati and Karnali provinces and a few places in the remaining provinces. Heavy rain is expected at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.

Afternoon: The weather is expected to be partly to mostly cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning is likely at some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces and a few places in the remaining provinces. There is also a possibility of heavy rain at a few places in Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and one or two places in the remaining provinces.

Night: Partly to mostly cloudy is expected across the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning at some places of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and at a few places in the remaining provinces while heavy rain is expected at one or two places in Koshi  Province.
