In response, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has issued a high alert and requested a halt to night bus operations in affected districts due to the difficulty of assessing flood and landslide risks at night.

The following districts are identified as highly risky: Taplejung, Panchthar, Sankhuwasabha, Tehrathum, Rasuwa, Sindhupalchok, Chitwan, Dolakha, Dhading, Nuwakot, Myagdi, Baglung, Kaski, Parbat, Syangja, Tanahun, East Nawalparasi, Lamjung, Gorkha, Kapilvastu, Rupandehi, Palpa, Gulmi, Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Pyuthan, Arghakhanchi, Rukum West, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura, Doti, and Baitadi.
