FNCCI to work for development of start-up entrepreneurship

KATHMANDU, Aug 21: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has announced investment in the development of start-up entrepreneurship.

During an inaugural session of the 'Startup Nation 2030' on Wednesday, FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal said that an investment company with a capital of Rs 10 billion has been established on the initiative of the FNCCI to promote innovation and entrepreneurship.

The company will remain as an autonomous body and can invest in any company, he said.

The FNCCI president underlined the need for foreign direct investment including domestic investment for the economic development and prosperity of the nation. He shared that the company was set up through an institutional investment.

Dhakal called for an enabling atmosphere for promoting startup business and new entrepreneurs, proposing to establish an Incubation Center and Innovation Center targeting youths.

He also said that the FNCCI has, in collaboration with the Sudurpaschim Province Government and the Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry, proceeded with the establishment of an Incubation Center.
