Five-year statute of limitation on corruption cases not acceptable: RSP Chair

KATHMANDU, Aug 13:  Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has expressed opposition to the five-year statute limitation for corruption offenses. He said that such crimes should be subject to investigation at any time.

Speaking to the media at Singha Durbar on Tuesday, Lamichhane said that while the public has responded positively to the new government's initial actions, his party is closely monitoring its performance. He also said that the RSP will soon release an official statement regarding the government's performance.

Additionally, Lamichhane affirmed the need for addressing the outstanding dues owed to Nepal Electricity Authority, making it clear that there should be no doubt about the need for this financial responsibility.
