Finance committee meeting concludes

KATHMANDU, July 4: A report with suggestions on the bill prepared to amend the Nepal Rastra Bank Act-2058 BS has been tabled in the meeting of the Finance Committee under the Legislature-Parliament on Monday. 

A sub-committee formed by the committee for the purpose presented the report to the committee after holding clause-wise discussions. 

The report has suggested to replace Nepal Rastra Bank (Second) Act-2071 BS with Nepal Rastra Bank (Second Amendment) Act 2073 BS. 

Similarly, lawmakers, Keshav Badal, Chandra Bhandari, Kamala Panta, Ichchhyaram Tamang opined for calling Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel in the meeting for the discussions regarding the bill. 

Likewise, the meeting held discussions on Employees Provident Fund (Ninth Amendment) Bill -2071 BS. Parliamentarians were divided on the provision of whether or not the EPF should invest in the shares of power generating projects run by government or government owned agencies. 

The Committee Chair Prakash Jwala shared that the bills would be endorsed after holding discussions with Finance Minister and concerned bodies. RSS
