Facebook apologizes and restores Balen's status

KATHMANDU, Sept 6: A controversial Facebook post by Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balen, which was removed for violating Facebook’s Community Guidelines, has now been restored.

The post with a photo of UML Lumbini Province Assembly Member Rekha Sharma accusing her of child labor was removed by Facebook three days ago.

According to Facebook, the post was removed due to allegations of harassment and bullying. However, Facebook has now reinstated the post with an apology.

Mayor Shah expressed his dissatisfaction with the removal of his post and expressed his anger towards Prime Minister KP Oli. Following the incident, Shah's supporters initiated an unfollow campaign on PM Oli's Facebook page.

Both Oli and Shah have not made any formal comment about this. However, there are allegations and counter-allegations occurring on Facebook regarding this issue.
