Elderly killed in elephant attack

SURUNGA (Jhapa), Nov 7: A 60-year-old man was killed in an attack by a wild elephant at Bahundangi-2 in Jhapa district today morning. 

The victim has been identified as Manahari Dhungel of Bahundangi-2 in the district, according to the District Police Office, Jhapa. 

Dhungel was charged by the tusker while he was collecting fodder in the nearby tea estate. 

Similarly, a fellow villager has sustained injuries in his right hand in the wild beast's attack. Injured in the incident is 62-year-old Lal Bahadur Pradhan, police said. RSS
