DPM Mahara to go to China, Nidhi to India

KATHMANDU, Aug 11: In a bid to further consolidate Nepal’s harmonious relations with its two immediate neighbors, India and China, the government has decided to send Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Krishna Bahadur Mahara to China and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi to India.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers took a decision to effect Thursday morning. Mahara will soon leave for China and Nidhi for India as the special envoy of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, according to Mahara who is also the government’s spokesperson.

Similarly, the Cabinet meeting also decided to direct the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies to control inflation, black marketeering and adulteration. The meeting has also directed the law ministry to float a proposal to amend the laws to tight the screw on adulteration, black marketeering and artificial shortage of goods.
