Dhulikhel Hospital ward building inaugurated

DHULIKHEL, Aug 8:  The newly constructed ward building of Dhulikhel Hospital in Dhulikhel Municipality, Kavrepalanchowk, was inaugurated today. The project, funded by the Government of India under the 'Nepal-India Development Cooperation,' cost Rs 42.6 million.

The inauguration was attended by Avinash Kumar Singh, First Secretary of the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, along with the Mayor of Dhulikhel Municipality, political representatives, government officials, and hospital management representatives.

According to the embassy’s press statement, the project, a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP), was executed through Dhulikhel Municipality, symbolizing the strong development partnership between India and Nepal. The new ward building is expected to provide quality infrastructure and an improved healthcare environment for the people of Nepal.

Since 2003, the Government of India has undertaken over 551 HICDPs in Nepal, completing 490. In Bagmati Province alone, 106 projects have been completed, including seven in Kavrepalanchowk. Additionally, India has provided 1,009 ambulances and 300 school buses to various Nepali institutions, with 236 ambulances and 98 school buses distributed in Bagmati Province alone. This includes an Advanced Life Support ambulance gifted to Dhulikhel Hospital in January 2021, which has been crucial in providing emergency healthcare, the press statement reads
