Departmental teams dominate beach volleyball

DOLALGHAT, Dec 2: The pair of Kopila Upreti and Kamala Pun of Nepal Police Club and Armed Police Force (APF) duo Reshma Bhandari and Nisana Balal are set to vie in the women's final of the ongoing Fifth Women's and Sixth Men's National Beach Volleyball Championship. 

In the semifinal match held at Indrawati river beach, Dolalghat, the pair of Kopila and Kamala registered a 21-15, 21-10 victory over the pair of Nita Shah and Manisha Chaudhary.

Similarly in the second semifinal of the championship, APF's pair of Reshma and Nisana defeated the pair of Aruna Shahi and Manju Gurung 21-15, 21-11 of Western Region. 

In the men's section of the tournament, both teams of Tribhuvan Army Club have reached the final. Army duo Dip Khadka and Rishidhan Magar booked their place in the final beating the pair of Chandra Kunwar and Prajwal Malla of Police 21-15, 21-11. Likewise, another pair comprising of Dil Sunar and Durga Mahato of Army defeated the pair of Suresh Chaudhary and Milan Malla of Army in straight sets of 21-14, 21-16. 

The final matches in both men's and women's sections will be held on Saturday. The championship is being organized by Nepal Volleyball Association.
