DDC distributes social security allowance

LALITPUR, Aug 29: The District Development Committee (DDC) in the preceding fiscal year 2015/16 distributed Rs 49.98 million in social security allowance.

As part of the social security allowance, 5,017 will receive elderly allowance with DDC providing Rs 13.3 million.

As many as 2507 elderly citizens received Rs 14.2 million in medical expenses and 567 received Rs 2.1 million in disability allowance.

A total of 4388 single women received Rs 785,000 in allowance. Likewise, Rs 228,000 was distributed as child protection grant. In the same fiscal year Rs 1.8 million remained on freeze, Local Development Official, Hari Prasad Dahal said. RSS
