Consensus should not end up in new govt: Prakash Man Singh

KATHMANDU, July 9: Nepali Congress leader Prakash Man Singh has said that the political parties should forge consensus for the implementation of the constitution but not for the sake of forming a new government.

Speaking at a program in the capital organized by NC Kathmandu Constituency-1on Saturday, Singh said the political parties should forge consensus to tackle the stalemate seen on the constitution implementation, but their efforts for consensus should not end up in forming a new government.

Leader Singh stressed on the need to forge consensus by resolving burning political issues including the implementation of the constitution to bail the country out of the current imbroglio.

Meanwhile, he accused the incumbent government of trying to woo voters with whimsical plans and bringing budget by violating the financial discipline.

On a different note, leader Singh criticized party President Sher Bahadur Deuba for not electing office bearers even four months after the party’s 13th National General Convention.
