Comprehensive study on Chure wildlife from Friday

KATHMANDU, Aug 25: A comprehensive study about wildlife found in the Chure region is beginning from Friday.

The study is taking place on joint efforts of National Trust for Nature Conservation and Rastrapati Chure Tarai Madhes Conservation Development Committee. The Chure region makes 12.75 per cent of the country's total area and it is home to various sorts of flora and fauna.

Tigers, rhinoceros and insects as well will be included in the study, according to Trust Information Officer Numraj Khanal.

The Trust has already imparted training to those being deputed for the study. According to Trust senior conservation officer Dr Naresh Subedi, the study will run for two years and 60 researchers have been deployed for the purpose. To take the real picture of status of wildlife in the Chure region is the goal of the study. RSS
