Commercial banks earn Rs 9.17 billion net profit in first month of current FY

Global IME Bank tops the list with highest net profit

KATHMANDU, Sept 17: Commercial banks made a net profit of Rs 9.17 billion in the first month (mid-July to mid-August) of the current fiscal year (FY) 2024/25.

Global IME Bank recorded the highest net profit, with Rs 892.4 million in mid-August. Nabil Bank was second, achieving a net profit of Rs 803.3 million. Agriculture Development Bank ranked third with a net profit of Rs 712 million.

Similarly, Himalayan Bank ranked fourth with a net profit of Rs 588 million, while Nepal Investment Mega Bank secured the fifth position with a net profit of Rs 577.5 million.

Prabhu Bank earned a net profit of Rs 538 million followed by Prime Commercial Bank with Rs 505.5 million, Kumari Bank with Rs 503.5 million, and Laxmi Sunrise Bank with Rs 430.3 million.

Likewise, NMB Bank earned a net profit of Rs 427.2 million, Everest Bank Limited Rs 422.9 million, Sanima Bank Rs 382.6 million, Rastriya Banijya Bank Bank Rs 360.6 million, and Siddhartha Bank Rs 348.8 million in profit. Additionally, Citizens Bank International earned a net profit of Rs 342.2 million, Nepal SBI Bank Rs 333.3 million, Standard Chartered Bank Rs 311.5 million, NIC Asia Bank Rs 266.3 million, and Nepal Bank Limited Rs 223.9 million.

The bank with the lowest profit is Machhapuchhre Bank, which earned a net profit of Rs 202.4 million.
