KATHMANDU, July 7: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Women Children and Social Welfare, CP Mainali has said the government was working out to bring a new Act to ensure the rights of women and children. 

He informed that the new bill for the same was preparing to table in the parliament aimed at replacing such Act of 2048 BS. Addressing a program jointly organized by the Central Child Welfare Committee and Nepal Police, here today DPM Mainali added that such co-work was essential to end all kinds of discrimination against the children and women. 

Women and children are facing different kinds of discrimination in the society and such discrimination should be ended with the co-work of all, participants argued. 

On the occasion, secretary at the Ministry of Women Children and Social Welfare Madhu Prasad Regmi shared that the government has prepared the national strategy against early child marriage. 
Similarly, Central Child Welfare Committee chair Dilliram Giri claimed that the all kinds of discrimination against the woman and children could be lessened if our thinking was changed. 

On the occasion, Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) Bigyan Raj Sharma urged that parents not to create fear showing the police adding that they should be taught that police are the friends of them. RSS
