According to Jung Bahadur Belbase, president of the National Poultry Traders Association, the retail price has dropped from Rs 420 per kg in June to Rs 340 per kg.
Belbase said that the decline in meat consumption since July has contributed to the price drop. He said that the price of live chicken has reduced by Rs 10, which now stands at Rs 250 per kg. The trade association indicates that only 50 to 60 percent of chicken production is currently being consumed.
