Know MoreKATHMANDU, Sept 1: A woman, who was undergoing treatment at Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Center, Harisiddhi, has died after jumping off the hospital building.
According to Shekhar Khanal, senior superintendent of police (SSP) of the District Police Range, Lalitpur, the deceased has been identified as Pun Maya Tamang, 61, of Narayantar, Gokarneshwar Municipality
SSP Khanal said that Tamang jumped from the window of the cabin where she was undergoing treatment. He said that she was receiving treatment in a cabin on the third floor of the hospital. It is reported that she jumped from the window of the cabin on Saturday and passed away today while undergoing treatment at Patan Hospital.
Khanal said that she was admitted to the hospital and was undergoing treatment since August 8. She had just returned from the US a few days ago. It is suspected that there might be some mental problem due to the cancer. SSP Khanal said that an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
Khanal also said that the deceased’s husband was a former employee of the Nepal Rastra Bank.
