KATHMANDU, Sept 3: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has announced a reduction in fuel surcharges for flights, effective from Tuesday, in response to a decrease in aviation fuel prices by Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC). The fuel surcharge has been reduced by Rs 20 to Rs 265, depending on the destination.

The highest reduction in the fuel surcharge is for flights to Biratnagar and Nepalgunj, where the NOC has reduced the fuel surcharge by Rs 265. The lowest reduction in the fuel surcharge applies to flights to Lukla and Phaplu with a decrease of Rs 20.

CAAN has adjusted the fuel surcharge in line with the NOC's reduction of aviation fuel prices by Rs 5 per liter. For flights to easily accessible destinations, the surcharge is now set at Rs 4,212.82 per passenger per hour, while for flights to remote destinations, it is Rs 50.16 per passenger per minute.
