Know MoreKATHMANDU, July 18: The Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation have so far announced buffer zones comprising areas surrounding thirteen national parks and wildlife reserves in the country.
The announcement is aimed at protecting greenery in an around the parks and conserving rare wildlife. The Department started announcing the buffer zone from 1996 AD.
The Chitwan National Park and Bardiya National Park were the first national parks where a buffer zone was declared.
The Shivapuri- Nagarjun National Park is the latest site where a buffer zone was declared in last April, as said by Department's information Officer Narayan Rupakheti. RSS
