BHAKTAPUR, July 10: Continuous rainfall has caused floods and landslides, resulting in significant damage across various parts of Bhaktapur district. In response, the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal No 22 Guheshwari Battalion in Duwakot, Bhaktapur, has been actively engaged in rescue operations.

On July 10, the increased water flow in the Manohara River posed a threat to the houses near Rai Tole in Duwakot, Changunarayan Municipality-1. To mitigate the risk, a flood barrier was constructed using sandbags and wire mesh. Superintendent of Armed Police Force, Basudev Lohani, Commander of No 22 Guheshwari Battalion, provided this information.

Similarly, in Changunarayan Municipality-4, after the Manohara River's flow began damaging nearby settlements, the APF, along with local residents, built an embankment to protect the area.

Earlier, on July 8, the APF successfully reopened a road in Changunarayan Municipality-6, Nagarkot, that had been blocked by a landslide. Additionally, a landslide on the road from Nagarkot to Sankhu via Kattike Bhanjyang caused damage to the Sereni Resort building in the same area.
