All four ministers of RSP return from PM’s residence without resigning

KATHMANDU, July 4: All four ministers from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) returned from the residence of the Prime Minister, Baluwatar, without resigning today.

The RSP ministers, who had reached Baluwatar to submit their resignations, returned without resigning after a conversation with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Santosh Pariyar, chief whip of the RSP, said that the ministers did not resign after PM Dahal said he would face a vote of confidence in parliament.

This morning, the RSP ministers met the Prime Minister with the intention of resigning.

The ministers including  RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane, who serves as the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Dol Prasad Aryal, Minister for Labor and Employment; Sumana Shrestha, Minister for Education; and Birajbhakta Shrestha, Minister for Youth and Sports, had reached Baluwatar with their resignation letters.

On Wednesday, CPN-UML withdrew its support to the government and the ministers also submitted their resignation letters.

The government has fallen into minority after the CPN-UML broke the political equation with the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) and formed an alliance with the Nepali Congress (NC).
