Agricultural technicians to resume their strike after govt fails to meet their demands within the deadline

KATHMANDU, July 31: The agricultural technicians under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD) have decided to resume their strike from today. They decided to resume their strike as the deadline given to the minister expired today.

The officer level employees are going on a strike, holding a sit-in at the entrance of the ministry. As many as 300 agricultural technicians across the country have been urged to halt work.

After the newly appointed Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ramnath Adhikari, gave written commitment to address their concerns within 15 days, the technicians agreed to quit their 15 days long strike starting from June 29.

Madhav Paudel, the planning officer of the Prime Minister's Agriculture Modernization Project, said that due to the non-cooperation of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, no achievement has been made, and the technicians are going to protest again with a sit-in from today.
