KATHMANDU, Dec 3: Chairman of the main opposition party in parliament, the CPN (UML), KP Sharma Oli has said his party would get victory in the movement against the constitution amendment proposal. 

Inaugurating the 12th general assembly of the Sukhani Martyrs Memorial Foundation here on Saturday, he said the proposal would fail as many other people's class organisations have started extending solidarity to the nation-wide movement initiated against the proposal by the Youth Association Nepal and the All Nepal National Free Students Union, close to the UML, and as public support to the movement was gathering in places like Butwal among others. 

The UML chairman stated that his party would never relent from protesting the government's wrong steps and advocating for the people's aspirations and awareness, the same way the Jhapa uprising and movement played effective role in toppling the Panchayat rule. 

"That time also the Panchayati autocrats tried to repress the movement but the force of the Jhapa movement nullified the suppression. So, this time also we will become successful. Those who bragged that the Panchayat polity will remain until the sun and moon remain were the losers, Now, the time has come to say that UML will exist until the day the sun, moon and the earth remain," he said. 

At the programme, leader Oli also released 'Sukhani', a souvenir published by the Foundation. RSS
