Historic sites restored with Indian aid

KATHMANDU, July 6: Indian envoy to Nepal, Ranjit Rae, has inaugurated five historical-cultural sites in Lalitpur district Saturday.

Nagbahal tole Sudhar Cheen, Kul Devta Agan Ghar, Bhindya Lachi Chapa, Lukushi Pati, and the Ganga Pokhari at Bungmati are the earthquake-damaged sites, which have recently been restored with Indian assistance of NRs 22,409,000, as per a press release issued by Kathmandu-based Embassy of India.

The recently restored historical and cultural sites are the centers of cultural importance to the local communities.

The press statement further reads that the restoration of these historical and cultural sites with the Indian grant underlines the importance accorded by India to the preservation and promotion of the rich cultural and historical heritage of Nepal, which is in the spirit of the strong historical bonds linking the two countries.
