UML cadre murdered in cold blood

SARLAHI, Dec 29: An unidentified gang brutally murdered CPN-UML cadre Ram Naresh Yadav, 60, in Haripur of the Sarlahi district on Tuesday morning. The police investigators have yet to ascertin if the killing was politically motivated.  

Yadav, a UML district committee member, whose body was found at his village in Haripur-7, was returning from morning walk when the incident occurred. Sarlahi Superintendent of Police Kedar Dhakal said that Yadav was brutally murdered as his head and face bore several deep gashes and traces of chilli powder were found in his eyes.


“We have intensified the investigation into the murder but we have yet to determine the cause and identify the people involved,” SP Dhakal said.

According to the District Police Office, it has already arrested a few people as suspects and is continuing the investigations. The whole village of Haripur was in shock as the family members mourned the brutal killing of Yadav. The villagers and family members claimed that the murder was politically motivated, but the local politicians and others dismissed such claims. The body of Yadav has been handed over to the family members after conducting autopsies at the District Hospital Malangawa. His body was cremated soon after the dead body was received.

CPN-UML, issuing a press statement, has demanded the arrest of the people behind murderer without any delays.

He was nominated as CPN-UML district committee member of the party only four months ago. Apart from politics, he was also involved in land related business and worked as a contractor in the district, remaining controversial in recent days. Yadav is a father of two sons and a daughter.
