Stating that the opposition parties have taken the positive efforts made by the government and the parties in the government for finding a way out of the current political crisis as a weakness, the meeting concluded that the tendency of becoming averse to consensus while focusing only on power was the main obstacle to consensus.

President of the Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party (TMLP), Mahantha Thakur, said they held discussions mainly on the way out from the present political deadlock.

He said the main agenda of the meeting was the lack of consensus mainly because the opposition parties only focused on power.

The meeting also decided to carry out the required home work for bringing the full-fledged budget.

Referring to the President´s statement that he would approve only the budget ordinance based on consensus among the parties, Thakur said, "What is important is the need of the people, we discussed on that very topic."

The TMLP president said the meeting held general discussions on the topic of reinstatement of the Constituent Assembly or new election.

Present in the meeting were the UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, vice-chairman and Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, another vice-chairman and Deputy Prime Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, president of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Loktantrik) and Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar, acting president of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Ganatantrik) and Minister for Information and Communications, Raj Kishor Yadav, the TMLP president Thakur, Minister for Physical Planning, Works and Transport Management, Hridayesh Tripathi, president of the Sadbhavana Party and Minister for Health and Population, Rajendra Mahato, among other leaders of the ruling coalition.
