Three rescued after houses collapse

CHARIKOT, July 24: Three persons have been rescued after two houses collapsed upon them due to a landslide at Tamakoshi Bazar of Bhimeshwor Municipality-6 on Monday night.



According to the district police office, Dolakha, police rescued Rohit Upreti, 4, Bhumika Upreti, 30, and Gokarna Upreti, 35, after the incident. [break]



The landslide was caused by a flood at the nearby stream fed by incessant rainfall for the last 24 hours in the area.



According to Umesh Raj Joshi, deputy superintendent of Police (DSP), a policeman, Krishan Basnet got injured during the rescue work. He suffered a broken leg while rescuing the trio and has been ferried to Charikot for treatment.
