Three held for vandalism at Janaki Temple

JANAKPURDHAM, Dec 21: Police here have arrested three people for their involvement in vandalizing the Janaki Temple during the President Bidya Devi Bhandari's visit to the shrine.

The arrested were Sita Sharan Mandal, Rahul Kumar Raut and Ritesh Kumar Raut. Similarly Dhanusha District Police chief Ram Dutta Joshi informed that they were searching for other people involved in this connection.


Police have intensified search for the culprits soon after the Council of Ministers' meeting held on Sunday decided to take action against those involved in the vandalism.

Meanwhile, a man was killed in a road accident at Ganeshman Char Nath Municipality-7 along the east-west highway in the district. The deceased is yet to be identified.

The accident took place when a truck, Na 4 Kha 9909, collided with a pickup van at the place. The deceased is the van driver. The collision also ignited a fire, it is stated. RSS
