Tennis players off to Qatar

KATHMANDU, Dec 22:Samrakshak Bhushan Bachracharya and Pranab on Tuesday left for Doha, Qatar to take part in the Qatar Asian Junior Tennis Team Cup slated for December 23-29. Samrakshan and Pranab will play U-14 events and singles separately in the tournament with participants from eight countries. The duos are accompanied by coach Surya Bhushan Bachracharya.

Army wins title
KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Tribhuvan Army Club became team champion in the Seventh Korean Ambassador Cup Taekwondo Tournament that concluded on Tuesday in Lalitpur. Army claimed 10 gold medals to win team championship title. Koteshwar Taekwondo Dojang and Sitapaila Taekwondo Dojang claimed three gold medals each. Meanwhile, Mohammad Oash of Parsa and Kajal Shrestha of Koteshwar were named best players in men’s and women’s sections respectively.


APF, Army into quarterfinals
KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): APF Club and Tribhuvan Army Club on Tuesday entered the quarterfinals in the COAS Third International Women’s Football Tournament being held in the capital. APF thrashed Western 16-0 and Army triumphed over Far-western with the same score to reach the last eight. On Monday, Nepal Police Club and Central Region entered the quarterfinals.
